Hello Band Families:
Yesterday was a beautiful day for marching, and your students were terrific in their Homecoming Parade performance. Thank you to the parents who helped with water and uniforms. Congratulations to all the students who auditioned for symphonic and concert band, and thank you to the parents who helped with hospitality and room monitoring. It is so nice to see so many new faces volunteering.
We are also trying something new, attaching the minutes from the September PIMB meeting so you can keep up to date if you were unable to attend. We would love your feedback on this new idea.
We have a busy few weeks ahead, with the Homecoming Game Friday night, the contest in Springfield on Oct 6, and our own Marching Festival on Oct 13, as well as Senior night on Oct 19th.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered this past week. We have a very busy week ahead of us. Please help us by encouraging students to be proactive about thinking ahead. Students need to be memorizing the third movement of the show and the dance tune Bend Me, Shape me.
Students need to decide if they’re going to audition for All-District Band by the end of this week. Auditions are November 3rd. We will have a sign-up sheet posted all week outside of the office.
Field Prop Help – we will need five to seven people to set up drum major podiums and help with pit for performances. Thanks to those who have already emailed to volunteer. Please email Lisa Uhrmacher if you are interested in either home games, or games and contests.
Prop Committee – needs your old sheets and linens. The prop team is working on the props for this year’s show. They need some more very colorful scrap material, old sheets, linens, fabric to decorate the podiums to look like a marketplace. Please bring your donations to the field on Tuesday night and give to Katie Ervin.
Park Hill/Park Hill South Marching Festival – Oct 13. We will primarily be volunteering throughout the festival in the morning, and running concessions all day. There will be jobs for students, and jobs for adults. Lettering credit is available for student volunteers. This year we are the second band to march in exhibition, at 9pm in the evening, before the awards. We will need all hands on deck at there are 15 competition bands this year, a larger number than ever before. More details to come and a sign up will be sent out soon.
Thinking ahead – Cappuccino Night is in November, and will include a silent auction. Please start to be on the lookout for donations from businesses you own, or frequent. Restaurant gift cards, Event tickets, Professional Services, Décor Items all make great auction items. As always, we appreciate your gift of time and talents, and your students appreciate all you do to make our Band program across both campuses such a high-quality experience. The extra things you enable make a huge difference to your students. Everyone has something to offer, and it does take a village to raise a band
