2009 Summer Band
& Fall Schedule

The PHS Panther Marching Band, directed by Dr. Miller and assisted by Mr. Boyd, is comprised of
and required for students from both Symphonic and Concert bands.  

Below is information PHS band members will  need for the beginning of the 2008-2009 school year,
particularly new members.  ALL MEMBERS: You will need to have the following by the first
rehearsal; 1) your instrument in EXCELLENT working condition, 2) a flip-folder for marching band
music (check any local music store - they will know what you need), and 3) a music lyre for your
instrument (except percussion).  All members are required to purchase specific shoes and gloves for
marching band and a Panther Bands T-shirt.  Shoes and gloves will be purchased from the marching
band supply company we select in order to maintain uniformity of dress.  The cost for shoes is $35
and the cost for gloves, socks and  T-shirts combined is $20.  Payment for the shoes, gloves, socks
and T-shirt must be made when ordered, the specific date to be announced at the first day of
rehearsals on August 3rd.  Everyone will receive an order form to be returned with payment(s).  
Payment should be made to the Park Hill South Band Booster's Association, so please WAIT until
you receive the order form so checks can be made out with the correct amount.

The pre-season rehearsal schedule listed below are VITAL to the success of our marching season.  
We must have all fundamentals down and most of our drill learned by the first day of school.  All
Symphonic/Concert Band members are required to be at these rehearsals.  ADJUST YOUR
SCHEDULES (work, private lessons, etc.) so you’ll be ready to play at the first rehearsal!  Note the
following important dates, times and/or events.  You are responsible for all of these activities.
