Hello Band Families:
Thank you so much to everyone who volunteered yesterday at the Park Hill District Marching Festival. It was such a great day – no rain – and there were many compliments on how friendly and enthusiastic our volunteers were. It was awesome to see such a great performance from your Marching Panthers in exhibition. Special thank you to Tom Harris for his leadership and Susi Hedrick for managing the concession stand. It was a huge job. It was so nice to see so many new faces volunteering again.
A big thank you to Sam and Erica Burleson, Sammy’s parents, from Metropolitan Steakhouse in Leavenworth. They very generously provided a delicious hot dinner for the band on Tuesday night after rehearsal.
We have a long week ahead, as we wrap up our marching season. Senior night on Friday night, Oct 19th, and the Festival of Champions at UCM Warrensburg on Saturday Oct 20th.
PIMB members will put up the Senior Posters at the stadium before the Senior game, so be sure to check them out. Seniors may take home their posters after the game as a gift from PIMB. Thank you to Wendy Ware at KCLogoWare for printing the posters at a great price for our Seniors.
Reminder to air out uniforms, there were many really wet, smelly and crumpled uniforms last night, and they need to be in top shape for the Senior Night and the Contest.

Football Game – Senior Night
We’re still waiting on the official timing sheet for the football game which includes times for senior night festivities. As soon as we have it, we will send it out. We typically receive it on Monday or Tuesday. We do know that seniors will be announced before the game and that we will be performing during halftime. Seniors will fill out information on Tuesday for their announcement during pre-game.

We will be providing breakfast for the students on Saturday. Students will need to bring money for dinner at the concessions after our performance. Tickets are $13 for anyone wanting to come watch our performance.
This contest will have over thirty bands and use a prelims finals format. UCM makes an effort to have equal representation from all classes in finals. This means we could place well overall in prelims and still not make finals. I hope this helps everyone plan their evening accordingly. As I always tell our students before each contest, “our goal is to always do our best and we only worry about ourselves.” All uniform items (except socks and shoes) and school-owned instruments will need to be returned after the contest. We ask that all students ride the bus back, this will help with items being returned on time.
Field Prop Help – we will need five to seven people to set up drum major podiums and help with pit for our last two performances. Please email Lisa Uhrmacher if you are interested in either Senior Night or Warrensburg or both.
Thinking ahead – Cappuccino Night is Monday November 19th, and will include a silent auction. Please start to be on the lookout for donations from businesses you own, or frequent. Restaurant gift cards, Event tickets, Professional Services, Décor Items all make great auction items. As always, we appreciate your gift of time and talents, and your students appreciate all you do to make our Band program across both campuses such a high-quality experience.
